Finnish doctor and politician, MP for Eduskunta and chairwoman of the Christian Democrats, Päivi Räsänen is under two investigations for allegedly defaming or insulting homosexuals. The first time was when she shared a Bible verse on Twitter last year targeting the Finnish Lutheran Church for promoting the homosexual lifestyle.
"In her tweet, she directly quoted the first chapter of Romans and verses 24-27 and posted a photo of the Bible passages. This passage condemns homosexuality.
Whereas The Attorney General of Finland has now launched a second investigation into a pamphlet Päivi wrote 15 years ago about biblical Christian marriage, titled "Male and Female, He Created Them."
Leif Nummela, editor of the Christian newspaper said:
"I thought it couldn't happen. It was unbelievable. It was a real surprise. And my first thought was," do they really do that? it's that far'?"
I guess Christians don't realize what's going on....
If convicted, Päivi could face fines and even imprisonment. Finnish theologian Turunen believes that support for Finnish evangelical leaders was weak.
"If we could easily receive two hundred thousand Christians saying:" This is scary, stop persecuting Päivi Räsänen " and that would have a huge impact," Nummela said.
Turunen said:
"wishes evangelical leaders would be more outspoken and bolder. Otherwise, the time will come when every one of us will be in front of a firing squad."
In Sweden, it's a done deal. Probably in Norway as well. In Finland some people are just waking up, as if they didn't know what was going on in the world. It is all due to the lack of sanctification.
Most denominations reject the validity of God's Law.
