PRAISE THE LORD

PRAISE THE LORD

Isaiah prophesied: For behold, darkness covers the earth and darkness the nations, but the Lord will shine upon you, and his glory will appear over you. And the nations shall go to your light, and kings to the brightness that shines over you" (Isaiah 60:2-3).
This prophecy speaks of the end times, a time that will begin when the light - the Lord Jesus Christ - has come into this great darkness. Isaiah spoke of a great, universal illumination of the glory of Christ in this darkness. Multitudes of people throughout the pagan world will come to this light.
Think about it: there was no darker period in history than at the time of Jesus' birth. The great Roman Empire had become such a materialistic, greedy society. Sexual perversion, drunkenness, and binge eating were the norm. The entire known world at that time was plunged into darkness.
Hypocrisy was also common during this time. Priests robbed widows of their homes and the poor and uneducated despised their so-called spiritual leaders. In simple terms, the blind led the blind.
It was into this great darkness that Jesus came as an enlightening light. We also know that since that glorious day a multitude of people have come into that light.
You may say, "But look around you today. Great darkness still covers the earth." Yes - the present hour may be the worst in human history. The darkness hovering over all nations and people is clearly felt. Nuclear threats, genocides, the widespread sale of sex - all of these are causing havoc in our hearts.
But Jesus is still the light of the world. Isaiah saw the darkness of our time and cried out: " Arise, shine, for your light has appeared, and the glory of the Lord has shone upon you" (Isaiah 60:1).
Once again, in the world's darkest hour, God will manifest His power. He will draw a large enough congregation of lost souls in the days that lie ahead. He will stir the souls of many and we will all feel the glory of the Lord.

  1. Great are these verses from Isaiah like 60:1....

    1. I am happy to subscribe to this as well 🙂 "The people who walk in darkness - will see a great light; to those who dwell in the land of mortal obscurity - a light will shine." Isaiah 9:1 or the aforementioned "Arise, shine, for your light is coming, and the majesty of the Eternal will shine upon you. For darkness shall yet cover the earth, and darkness the tribes; but the Eternal shall shine upon thee, and His majesty shall be revealed over thee." Isaiah 60:1-2 is the NBG translation and I must admit that there are passages where I like the NBG translation very much. Anyway, I like the book of Isaiah very much, in general, reading the Bible I have such moments that I cry "Oran how wonderful it is!" and I read the passage a few more times to admire this beauty even more! 🙂 The Bible is a mine of beautiful, wise words.

  2. I like this text very much, but also the quotes used there 🙂 I like it a lot.

  3. For AS MANY OF GOD'S PRIESTIES, IN HIM ARE THESE, and in him are Amen, to the glory of God through us.
    BG - 2 Corinthians 1:20
    But THE ONE WHO CONFIRMS US WITH YOU IN CHRIST AND WHO HAD HELPED US, GOD IS;
    BG - 2 Corinthians 1:21
Who has also ENJOYED US AND GIVEN A PROVIDENCE OF SPIRIT IN OUR HEART.
    BG - 2 Corinthians 1:22

But the LORD is the SPIRIT; and WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS, THERE IS FREEDOM.
    BG - 2 Corinthians 3:17
But WE, all of us who SEE THE DISCOVERED GLORY OF GOD, AS IN A MIRACLE, ARE TRANSFORMED FROM GLORY TO GLORY IN THIS EXPRESSION, AS FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
    BG - 2 Corinthians 3:18

For what the law could not do, in which it was weak in the flesh, GOD, having sent forth HIS SON in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin's sake, DESTROYED SIN IN THE Flesh,
That the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh think of the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit think of the things of the Spirit.
For the sense of the flesh is death; BUT THE SENSE OF THE SPIRIT IS LIFE AND PEACE,
Therefore the sense of the flesh is an enemy to God; for it does not submit to the law of God, neither can it.
Therefore they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, because the SPIRIT OF GOD dwelleth in you: and if any man have not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, HE IS NOT HIS.
BUT IF CHRIST IS IN YOU, THEN THE BODY IS DEAD TO SIN, AND THE SPIRIT IS ALIVE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS.
AND IF THE SPIRIT OF HIM WHO RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD DWELLS IN YOU, HE WHO RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD WILL ALSO GIVE LIFE TO YOUR MORTAL BODIES THROUGH HIS SPIRIT WHO DWELLS IN YOU.
And so, brethren, we are debtors not to the flesh, that we may live after the flesh.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF THE SPIRIT OF THE Flesh dieth, ye shall live.
FOR WHOEVER IS LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THOSE ARE THE SONS OF GOD.
Because ye have not taken the spirit of bondage again unto fear, BUT HAVE TAKEN THE SPIRIT OF THE SON'S PRESENCE, THROUGH WHICH WE CALL, ABBA, THIS IS DAD!
THIS SPIRIT CERTIFIES TO OUR SPIRIT THAT WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD.
AND IF WE ARE CHILDREN, THEN ARE WE THEIR PARENTS, THEIR PARENTS REALLY OF GOD, AND THEIR PARENTS OF CHRIST, if only we suffer with him, that we may also BE GLORIFIED WITH HIM.
For, (brethren!) I have it that the afflictions of this present time are not worthy of that future glory which is to be revealed in us.
For the caring look of creation awaits the revelation of the sons of God.
For the creature of futility is subjected, not voluntarily, but to him who subjected it,
Under the hope that the SAME CREATION WILL BE FREED FROM THE FREEDOM OF CONDEMNATION TO THE FREEDOM OF THE GLORY OF GOD.
For we know that all creation groans together and mourns together until now.
And not only the creature, but also we who have the elements of the Spirit, and we in ourselves groan, awaiting the adoption of the sonship, the redemption of our body.
For by hope we are saved. And a visible hope is not hope; for what does one see that is not expected?
But what we don't see, we expect, and by patience we expect.
AND THE SPIRIT ALSO HELPETH OUR NAUSEA. FOR WHAT WE SHOULD PRAY FOR, AS NEED BE, WE KNOW NOT; BUT THE SPIRIT ALSO MAKETH INTERCESSION FOR US WITH INEXPRESSIBLE SIGHS.
AND HE THAT SEARCHETH THE HEART KNOWETH WHICH IS THE SENSE OF THE SPIRIT, BECAUSE ACCORDING TO GOD HE CONTRIBUTETH UNTO THE SAINTS.
AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE OF GOD.
For wheresoever he hath seen, these hath he also predestinated to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren,
AND WHICH HE HATH PREDESTINATED, THESE ALSO HE HATH CALLED; AND WHICH HE HATH CALLED, THESE ALSO HE HATH JUSTIFIED; AND WHICH HE HATH JUSTIFIED, THESE ALSO HE HATH GLORIFIED.
What shall we say then? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Who forgave not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all: how shall he not give us all things with him?
Who will complain about God's elect? GOD IS HE WHO JUSTIFIES.
Who is there to condemn them? CHRIST IS THE ONE WHO DIED AND ROSE AGAIN, WHO IS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, WHO ALSO WORKS FOR US.
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Or tribulation? Or oppression? Or persecution? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or danger? Or sword?
    As it is written: For thee we have been slaughtered all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter;
But in all this we are overcome by him who loved us.
FOR I AM SURE OF THIS, THAT NEITHER DEATH, NOR LIFE, NOR ANGELS, NOR PRINCIPALITIES, NOR POWERS, NOR THINGS PRESENT OR THINGS TO COME,
NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH NOR ANY OTHER CREATURE SHALL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD. Rom.8,4

Let Jesus Christ be exalted. It is through faith in him that God has glorified us, surrounded us with his glory, calling us children of God.
For over 2,000 years, God's promise has been fulfilled in and through Christ, all for Him, through Him and in Him. 🙂

Ps.Sad that this man does not want to convert the heathen to the light.
