Romania is preparing to distribute potassium iodide tablets to its citizens in case of a nuclear incident, due to the conflict in neighboring Ukraine.
The question is why does Romania do it and other countries don't?
"The Romanian government and the Ministry of Health will launch a campaign to inform the population about how to administer and store potassium iodide tablets" - Romania's health ministry said in a Sunday statement .
It said: "The Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Company will establish a legal procedure for the distribution of potassium iodide tablets to the population aged 0 to 40 years."

I think iodide is cheap enough to be worth having in your medicine cabinet especially since it is also applicable in other cases like:
- is essential for normal thyroid and endocrine function
- is important for the proper functioning of the nervous system
- has a particular influence on the development of the young organism

Yes . It's true but it's supposedly going to be a fake threat to just displace people and then they won't be able to return to their homes , apartments or farms . It will probably just be some kind of fake contamination .
Vaccination in Romania does not exceed 50% . Let's hope these potassium iodides are not supplemented with something....
