A cyber attack on one of the NATO countries results in the triggering of Article 5 which means war against the country that made such an attack.
The Parties agree that an armed attack on one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all, and therefore agree that if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in the exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defense recognized under Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, shall assist the Party or Parties attacked by taking forthwith, either alone or in concert with other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.
Any such armed aggression and all measures taken as a result thereof shall be reported to the Security Council without delay. Such measures shall cease as soon as the Security Council has taken the action necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security.
Such an attack would therefore provide a pretext to attack Russia:
"NATO is strengthening network defenses against cyberattacks. Alliance chief Jens Stoltenberg said after an emergency NATO summit that such an attack by Russia on any member state could trigger Article Five of the North Atlantic Treaty. The provision talks about the common defense of an attacked country."

I don't understand this attack on Ukraine, if Russia is so tired and can't occupy cities then they have such a weak army? In media info that attacks are repulsed, so I guess they are not using 100% capabilities and something in this war stinks.
I'm sure they want to create fear in people, because from what I see both online and in real life people are panicking and can't even focus on their lives so it hits them.
For the time being conventional attacks on one of the NATO countries don't make sense, because they haven't occupied Ukraine yet, unless provocation and use of nuclear warheads and according to wikipedia Russia has almost 8 thousand of them.
If they wanted to, they would have occupied Ukraine in 3 days if it didn't have nato help of course. This is about a creeping war to get as many people killed as possible.
