The purpose of Our Collection is to help Edith Dragoshi (nee Wójt), who has been a victim of domestic violence. Her husband is suspected of trying to kill her. That he hit her in the back of the head with a metal tool-blade. Edith is in a coma. Her brain is severely damaged. She has had 2 strokes and has already had 2 surgeries. Part of her skull was removed, because the swelling in her brain was enormous. The damage is to the brain responsible for motor skills and vision. Unfortunately, the strokes were so strong that they can damage other senses. It is not known whether Edyta will regain consciousness. Whether she will manage to wake up from the coma. The tragic event took place on 22 January.
She comes from Ochab, where she lived until she was 19. Then she emigrated to Sweden. She started a family there. That's where the terrible tragedy happened. No one from the family lives there. Her mother died a few months ago. Her dad flew her to Sweden along with her sister. But the cost of living in Sweden is far beyond the family's means. Accommodation in a hotel near the hospital costs 600 PLN for a double room per night. Not to mention food or plane flights. That's why we're asking people with good hearts, friends and not only for financial support and for prayers. The costs of treatment, rehabilitation and the stay itself are too high for us.
Edith has three children: 3 years old. 10 years old and 12 years old. They do not have Polish citizenship, so we cannot take them to Poland. The funds we have gathered may allow someone from our family to live there and take care of them. For the time being they don't even let us see our children. This is another tragedy for us.
We cannot show Edyta's face from the hospital yet. On February 20th the investigation ends and then we will probably get permission. Standing over her bed and looking at the bandages on her head is the worst thing that ever happened to us.
Desperate cousins Ewelina and Ania.

Unfortunately, Edith didn't wake up. But we still believe. We will be by her side. And thanks to people with huge hearts it is possible. Thank you for your support. Both financial, prayer and messages of concern for us and for our Ed. We believe that soon she will wake up.

In these situations, not only should we support those in need financially or with prayer, but we should also realize how good we have it, and that sometimes we complain too much....
Let us thank God for all that we can....
I will pray for Edith's health....
