This image is presented in one of Plato's dialogues under the title "Politea" (also called The State) in Book VII. It depicts people trapped in a cave, bound by chains, who see only shadows (phenomena) of the true reality. They are staying in the darkness in the depths of the cave. Their faces are turned toward the wall, upon which fall the shadows of things in front of the fire lit above them. The bottom of the cave, where the people are, is the temporal world in which they live. The chains that bind the people are things, things that bind them to the mortal world. The shadows, on the other hand, that these people see are reflections of the true idea. Plato believed that only by freeing themselves from the chains, i.e. from the affairs of temporal life, are people able to know the higher truth, i.e. the world of ideas. The human soul is able through anamnesis, or recollection, to arrive at the world of ideas.

That these shadows of things to come in the Old Testament, which pointed to what will be in the New Testament and what is yet to come, that the devil has turned it into his fashion, that his medium of communication, that is, TV shows shadows (Plato's cave) to convey through projected, e.g. movies, what Satan would like to be in the future.

I've heard the term "Plato's cave" (the best I remembered from this concept was the caste of philosophers, read: illuminati, mentioned by Adi), but only now, in the Biblical context - as many other issues - the term takes on a new meaning. Besides, as Truth Detective has repeatedly pointed out, philosophy stinks of Satan.
