Thank goodness I stumbled across this post! I have my first retreat ahead of me, so it's good that I found out about it in time. One thing, however, has been bothering me. I once went to a service where there was something like Pentecost. People there were fainting, but no convulsions. A few people who had been asked to do this (not priests) prayed the intention that the person had given them. They put their hands on it, but it was not necessary to approach them and the purpose of the prayer was not to "faint" (falling asleep in the Holy Spirit). I would also add that one man fainted alone. Was this also some kind of demonic activity?
